This illustration of the Catalina Mountains in Arizona was published alongside an article I wrote for Tucson’s quarterly indie arts publication, the Tiny Town Times
“Now I’m sailing across the sun-scorched steppes of this unfamiliar landscape feeling like I’m lost in some impossibly magical vista within an open world video game.
When I step out of the cab at Broadway and Stone, I slip off my tinted aviators in an attempt to ground myself in reality and am instantly blinded by a sparklestorm of dazzling light. The scene shatters into a kaleidoscope of sunspot confetti and I recognize the source of these optical fireworks as a mosaic of mirror shards arranged into letters across a low wall.

With that luminescent explosion of an introduction, this trip is off to a fittingly psychedelic start.”
